The Greenhouse Class is designed to guide actors through the training and creative process developed by The Greenhouse Ensemble. Led by Founding Artistic Director Hazen Cuyler, the class provides a practical roadmap for transforming into any role with clarity, imagination, and efficiency.
Each three-hour session is divided into three parts:
Technique (First Hour)
Develop psychophysical awareness through the Alexander Technique and Michael Chekhov Technique. These practices strengthen concentration, expand the actor’s imagination, and provide practical tools for creating meaningful, expressive performances.
Scene Study (Final Two Hours)
Apply these techniques directly to scene work by breaking down scripts into beats and actions, developing fully realized characters, and building a strong acting ensemble through weekly rehearsal and presentation.
The Greenhouse Class provides a rigorous, supportive environment for actors committed to artistic excellence.
